Compagnies Franches de la Marine in Canadian/Outpost Clothes and Tuque (knitted cap)
Compagnies Franches de la Marine skirmishing dressed in the manner of the Canadians, but armed with their Model 1728/46 muskets and using their issue equipment, making them easily distinguishable from the miliciens. The soldiers in this pack are wearing tuques, knitted caps, also popular with the Canadian Militia. Companies and sub-divisions of companies of la Marine on remote outpost duty, often for several years, frequently without receiving replacement clothing issues, adopted Canadian dress out of necessity and found it well suited to a small unit backwoods role. Units dressed in Canadian/outpost style can be used to serve in a skirmishing role alongside others in “small clothes”.
